    Six states to generate intra-state e-way bills from April 20: Sushil Modi

    Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Sushil Modi addressing the media after today’s GoM meeting on return simplification said that GSTR3B form will continue. The Group of Minister (GoM) held discussions with 40 stakeholders including 15 indirect tax experts to simplify the GST Return form.
    Changes in GST returns, systems, software may even extend upto December, said Sushil Modi. He went on to say that efforts will be made to make a "Convergent Model"

    Clarrifying on the inspection of goods, he said, only designated officers can carry out inspection of goods.

    On e-way bill, Modi said that the NIC has designed the system which is capable to handle 75 lakh of e-way bills every day.

    He also hinted that centre and states may continue with current GST returns beyond June.

    Modi also indicated that 6 states will start generating intra-state e-way bills from April 20.

    Talking about today's meeting, Sushil Modi said, that the group discussed the feasibility of bringing back reverse charge mechanism. He also said that the goup would meet again in May to discuss reverse charge mechanism.
